Speaker: Mr. Bobby Liu, Senior Director, Topica Edtech Group.

Bobby Liu is a global citizen, having lived and worked in 6 different countries. A keen learner, he appreciates the differences in cultural background of people and what makes them tick.

Ideas abound, he started a co-working space/incubator called Hub.IT, a space that provided young entrepreneurs a conducive environment to innovate and share collective experiences, and in the process contributed to building a great entrepreneurial ecosystem in Hanoi and Vietnam. In 2015, Hub.IT was acquired by Topica, where he’s the Senior Director at Topica Edtech Group and Co-Director of the Topica Founder Institute, an early-stage accelerator.

He is also very active in the startup community, volunteering his time to mentor startups and helping them achieve their goals. One of the initiatives of his is an umbrella platform called Techfest (http://techfest.vn).

Speaker: Mr. Dinis Guarda, World-class Youtube Podcast & Author for Industry 4.0 and Frontier Tech.

Dinis Guarda is an author, academic, influencer, serial entrepreneur and leader in 4IR, AI, Fintech, digital transformation and Blockchain. With over two decades of experience in international business, C level positions and digital transformation, Dinis has worked with new tech, cryptocurrencies, drive ICOs, regulation, compliance, legal international processes, and has created a bank, and been involved in the inception of some of the top 100 digital currencies.

Dinis has 20+ years experience in international business and digital transformation. He’s also a Lecturer and Speaker in international business schools: Cambridge, Copenhagen Business School, INSEEC, Monaco University among others.

He’s a a writer/author with over 20 books/ebooks/magazines published in various languages.

Speaker: Mr. Tuan Nguyen, Deputy Director, SGInnovate.

Tuan leads the Community team at SGInnovate, a Singapore Government owned organisation that invests in and helps build deep tech startups. In line with Singapore’s future economy strategy and the Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2020 roadmap, Tuan helps nurture a strong deep tech
ecosystem of stakeholders with interests in AI, medtech, quantum technologies, blockchain.

Within two years, Tuan has initiated collaborations with over 60 corporate and international partners, and established SGInnovate as a leading deep tech champion and go-to partner in Singapore and the region, with a community of more than 25,000 startups, investors, corporate innovators, researchers and academics, government and international partners.

Notably, Tuan has helped conceptualise and curate the signature Deep Tech Summit, a best-in-class conference that convenes thought leaders and industry pioneers from around the world to discuss the impact of frontier technologies such as AI across industries and in society.

Dr. Gang LU is the founder and CEO of TechNode, making him one of China’s most recognised influencers in the global technology sector. Panelist: Mr. Nguyen Thien Tam, Head of Digital, OCB.

Mr. Tam Nguyen has more than 17 year experience in the financial industry, with in-depth expertise in financial planning, wealth management, retail banking, priority banking, insurance… Over the past few years, he has engaged deeply in the space of digital, fintech and data.

At OCB, Mr. Tam is responsible for carrying out key initiatives to digitize banks’ products and operations, including customer journeys and back end operations. Furthermore, he is strongly promoting adoption of Fintech to apply in all areas of the business in order to improve sales, customer experience and operational efficiency. His ownership also includes keeping in touch with external industry innovation trends and fostering internal environment for innovation.

JobHopin is backed with over $3M USD by world best Venture capital firms such as Seoul and Silicon Valley based Sema Translink, Tokyo based Mynavi Corporation, KK Fund, Edulab Capital and other high profile angel investors such as Forbes Vietnam CEO, Managing Partner of Glade Brook Capital Partner, PWC Vietnam Managing Partner, executives from iCarebenefits and HSC, Vietnam’s 2nd largest investment bank.

As a hall-of-fame graduate of the University of Arizona (Eller college of management) class of 2011 and the youngest graduate of Stanford Business School Executive Program cohort 2016, Kevin spends his spare time on charitable causes. Ms. Yi has been trained in Public Policy and Technology Entrepreneurship. She’s a transdisciplinary concept & strategy explorer, techno-entrepreneur, content producer, indie researcher / author, philosophy enthusiast & nature lover. She has been striving for global techno-social innovation & human cognitive evolution. Ms. Yi enjoys working at the intersection of philosophical thinking, creative production, technology exploration, business development & social innovation. I see these areas as inter-connected.

Mr. Yi is also the founding partner of Hiverlab, a media technology company, majoring in Singapore & majoring in immersive technology & media such as VR / AR / MR / Advanced Data Analytics / Human-machine Interfaces / 5G / Neurosciences.

Panelist: Dr. Thuc Vu | Kambria

Dr. Thuc Vu has deep expertise in game theory, machine learning, tournament design and multi-agent systems. He earned his PhD from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science from Carnegie Mellon, both in computer science. He was awarded Best Undergraduate Student in North America by the Computing Research Association for his research in 2004.

Apart from being an entrepreneur, Thuc is also a Research Scientist and Assistant Professor at John Von Neumann Institute of Vietnam National University. He is also fostering a community of AI & Robotics and helping to grow a tech ecosystem in Vietnam.

In 2017, Thuc was named as one of the “40 Under 40” of Silicon Valley by the Silicon Valley Business Journal for his tireless efforts to bring about a significantly positive impact in the business world.

Speaker: Dr. William H. Nguyen, Founder — Beowulf Blockchain.

Dr. William H. Nguyen is a serial entrepreneur with a history of successful ventures in communication technology, education, and computer/network/data security. He is the Co-founder of Kryptono Exchange. Over the past 10 years, Dr. William has built many social networking, on-demand video streaming, and communication applications serving tens of millions of users worldwide in the areas of business communication, media, education, and entertainment. William is the former Alfred P. Sloan Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Before Harvard, he was the Institutional Doctoral Fellow in Computational Science at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

He is currently pursuing the research and development of the new blockchain technology suitable for payment service.

Michelle Ng. is Senior Associate at Quest Ventures, a leading venture fund for technology companies that have scalability and replicability in large internet communities. She works closely with startups to accelerate their growth through a combination of incubation services and programmes. She is also responsible for key markets in Southeast Asia and emerging Asia.

Prior to this, Michelle was responsible for international startup ecosystem networks at the Action Community for Entrepreneurship — Singapore’s national entrepreneurship ecosystem builder — where she engaged startup communities in North Asia and Southeast Asia with market access and regional innovation initiatives, and in so doing anchored Singapore as Asia’s hub for entrepreneurship.
